Indonesia has over 17,000 islands, and so far I have explored exactly three of them: Lombok, Gili Air en Gili Gede. We spent two months living in Mataram on Lombok and got to know the island one scooter ride at a time. We stood under jungle waterfalls in the north, spend some time on a few small neigboring islands and got peed on by a monkey. We rode south, east and north, from jungles to beaches and mountains to flat dry areas.
